Socktoberfest is here!

I've been looking forward to this, and holding off on starting a new pair of socks. A little birdy told me that Laurie was planning on posting a free sock pattern in celebration.

Do you remember the adventure books that were around many years ago? You would read to a certain point and then had to make a choice of what the characters were going to do. You would then turn to the appropriate page and read on. For each action/reaction, there was a different path that either continued you through the book or ended the story. The possibilities were endless . . . and I think this pattern will be too. I am so syked about it . . but I have to start a toe up while I am waiting!

I had a bit of a photo back log going on due to issues with uploading photos from the digital. I seem to have repaired this for now, by running a repair in my utilities - I wish I thought of this sooner. This not so fabulous picture is from the first London Hand Knitters' Guild meeting held the second Monday of each month at the Chapters across from Masonville. MaryJane is the creator, wearer and the recipient of a first place from the Harrow Fair. MJ's work is fabulous and I am thrilled to have her expertise at both the Guild and the Monday Knitting Knight - I was about to rip a sleeve when she suggested blocking it (thanks to Laurie for suggesting I ask MJ).

Oh and blatantly cute picture . . . from the Western Fair. I would have brought it home, but I think Bogey would have been jealous.

  1. Awesome picture of Mary Jane!

Are you trying to give me a kick in the ass regarding that sock pattern? :-)

  2. Oh; I LOVE the Harrow fair! I haven't gone in a couple of years but it's one of the last true rural fairs in my area. I love seeing the livestock, and the preserves contestants, and all the other "homey" stuff. Sigh.

I think Bogie would have been happy with that new friend; at least until it was 10 times his size! lol

I'm glad to see your blog is still up. For some reason my Blogger lost it; I had to go on a mission to find it again!

  3. Laurie: Poke - poke . . looking forward to the pattern ;)

Jac: I recently switched to Blogger Beta and I think a few people lost the feed. I'm not sure what I can do about that, but glad that you found me!!
